Mac App Store Iphoto Failed To Download Windows 7
Apple has officially removed both the apps on Friday.
Even though you cannot download them anymore, you can continue using them if you have them installed on your machines. But it is unlikely that the apps will be updated in the future.
If you are wondering why this is happening, let me explain further. Last week, the Cupertino company released an update for its operating system called OS X Yosemite 10.10.3. One of the main features of the update was the Photos App. The new Photos application is the replacement for both iPhoto and Aperture apps.
Apple announced Photos almost a year ago, in June 2014, at its WWDC. The app finally made its way onto Mac, in last month’s beta, which eventually graduated into a stable release.
The removal of iPhoto and Aperture isn’t a shocking surprise. In fact, Apple notified its users last month. In the first week of March, during the open beta test period of OS X 10.10.3, an email from the company was sent out to Aperture users, which stated that the app would be discontinued from the Mac App store.
iPhoto made its debut thirteen years ago, in Macworld 2002. Apple co-founder and then-CEO, Steve Jobs announced it as part of the OS’ suite when the first iMac was also launched. Aperture was a more recent software, released four years ago in 2011.
The two almost share a birthday. iPhoto was released on January 6th (2002), while Aperture was released on January 7th (2011). Instead, they were sadly fated to share the same end-of-life date on April 11th, 2015.
Photos:
Photos combines features from iPhoto and Aperture, but isn’t as powerful as the latter used to be. And this has already drawn flak from some users, while others have begun migrating to Adobe Lightroom.
Before you start using Photos, we recommend reading Apple’s “Get started with Photos for OS X” guide which is available at its website. This will help you to switch from iPhoto and Aperture.
Photos and Aperture have independent libraries, so changes made after you migrate, will not be shared between the two apps.
Key features of the Photos app, includes cross-device syncing of the iCloud Photo library, which you can use across any of Apple’s devices. The synchronization occurs in realtime, so changes you make to an image will be reflected on other devices immediately. Despite the availability of iCloud, Apple still recommends users to take a backup using Mac OS X’s Time Machine.
